Brookfield is a Linn County community along the U.S. 36 corridor, with local dining, downtown parks, and a strong connection to railroad history. Its estimated population is 4,083. Today, the Linn County Historical Society Museum at the Tillman House offers more local history, while East and West Twin Parks provide green space downtown. South City Park’s disc golf course, the aquatic center, and Tormey Park add outdoor options, and nearby Pershing State Park opens onto wetlands and trails near Laclede. Labor Day weekend brings the annual Great Pershing Balloon Derby, when balloon flights, evening glows, and community festivities give the Brookfield area a colorful seasonal highlight.
Brookfield developed after the Hannibal and St. Joseph Railroad moved its division headquarters here following the line’s completion in 1859. It was incorporated on October 10, 1865. John, Wood, Brooks, and Boston streets reflect survey leader John Woods Brooks, while several other streets take their names from neighboring counties.

That is totally normal, we have been in THOUSANDS of homes, and almost none of them were perfectly clean when we met. At the initial meeting, all we’re doing is looking with you — a second follow-up will be set for any listing photos to give plenty of time to tidy up.
No repairs are required to list your home, you can sell in its current condition. We can add a note to the listing saying seller not interested in making repairs.
We agree, there’s nothing worse than a pushy salesman who’s just out for a commission. Thankfully, our agency is doing well, and we have no need for desperate sales tactics. We are here if you would like our assistance, and if not, that’s okay. We operate on a no-pressure philosophy.
