Mercer is a small community along US 65 in northern Mercer County, about eight miles north of Princeton and five miles south of the Iowa line at Lineville. When comparing homes, consider how an address fits your trips to Princeton, neighboring communities, and the wider rural area.
Mercer was platted during the railroad-building years of the 1870s and incorporated in 1886. Its earlier name was Marion. US 65 now provides a straightforward route through town and toward the county seat at Princeton.
